Responsible Youth through Media Literacy Education
YouTHink is an international project that aims to develop the critical thinking and media literacy skills of young people aged 14-19, while strengthening their social responsibility and ability to participate actively in today’s information society. The project also provides methodological tools and training for professionals working with young people to address the challenges of modern media and information dissemination.
The project focuses on empowering young people to identify disinformation, lies and propaganda, to use digital technologies effectively and to acquire practical skills for responsible media content creation. This initiative is a response to the increasing number of cases where the impact of social media and technology is affecting young people’s ability to analyse information and make informed decisions.
The international project YouTHink (Media and Information Literacy for Youth) is funded by the Erasmus+ Youth Cooperation Programme. The project is implemented by partners from Lithuania, Slovenia, Portugal, Italy and Switzerland. The project will organise a range of activities to both address young people’s needs on media literacy and to disseminate them, develop training materials, actively engage with the project target groups, pilot trainings and dissemination of the project, with the aim of achieving a lasting impact on both young people and the professionals working with them.
Main target groups
YouTHink project will directly involve:
200 YOUTH aged at 14-19
40 YOUTH WORKERS from non-formal youth sector organizations, local youth communities, public libraries, etc.

Who are we and what drives us?
Team Behind YouTHink
YouTHink project unites six organizations from diverse European countries and regions, including Lithuania, Slovenia, Italy, Portugal, and Switzerland. Project partners represent a variety of sectors and disciplines, including a higher education institution (IPT), an association (RIAP), a social enterprise (Simbioza), and non-profit organizations (ITI, CRHALF4D, and Ynternet.org). This consortium has been formed based on shared expertise in youth work, media literacy education, and digital technologies.
The project partners bring unique skills and experience in media literacy, ranging from working directly with young people and youth workers, developing training materials and methodologies, to implementing cutting-edge IT solutions.
During the project, the consortium develops an innovative training product designed for practical use in their daily activities. This product enables the partners to deliver targeted training sessions to specific groups and expand the dissemination of results through various national and international initiatives, reaching educators, staff, and students in diverse educational institutions.
The project aims to equip young people with essential media literacy skills and competencies, which are nurtured throughout the project’s implementation. At the same time, it strives to create a lasting impact on youth workers, who, in turn, can transfer this knowledge and positive influence to their communities.
